Sargeant crashes with repaired chassis in Japan and gives Williams a headache
Logan Sargeant has caused the first red flag in Japan. The American crashed his Williams during the first free practice session, causing his team further problems. It appears to be a personal mistake by the driver.
Sargeant missed the Australian Grand Prix after Alexander Albon crashed during the first free practice and the team had no spare chassis. Albon was given the only remaining chassis, Sargeant remained on the sidelines. Sargeant regained a repaired chassis in Japan, but now causes damage himself in FP1.
At first glance, Sargeant's crash appears to be a driver's own fault, as the American goes wide at the corner and lands on the grass. Sargeant ends up in the wall. The car does not appear to be hugely damaged, but it is a repaired chassis after Albon's crash in Australia. So work to do for the team.
