Sergio Perez is confident Red Bull Racing can still beat McLaren in the 2024 Constructors' World Championship due to an updated package set to be applied to the RB20 at the United States Grand Prix weekend. The Mexican warns McLaren that Red Bull can "come out really strong" if the updates go in the correct direction.

Red Bull Racing lost its lead in the Constructors' Championship at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. After the race in Singapore, McLaren pulled a 41-point gap to their rivals. But Perez remains hopeful that Red Bull can return to winning ways.

Why Perez is confident in Red Bull

"We found a lot of positive signs with the car, so I really hope we are on the right track in the coming weekends. I think it will be very important for us that we can be strong again. I think that will be the key for us," Perez said after the Singapore GP.

"In Baku we took a big step forward, we found a lot. If we are able to find more in that direction in the coming race weekends, I think we can come out really strong. I'm looking forward to hopefully bringing a big package that can bring a turnaround in the championship," Perez added. The Mexican hasn't managed to finish on the podium since the Chinese Grand Prix in April.

Red Bull will not be the only team bringing updates to Austin. Their rivals McLaren has also teased improvements while Ferrari and Mercedes are adding little bits before they shift their entire focus to next year.
