Verstappen points out F1 circuits which he finds "very fast"
Max Verstappen has pointed out the certain circuits which he finds "very fast" in Formula 1. The Dutchman has raced around many circuits since coming into the pinnacle of motorsport in 2016, but there some some circuits which he knows push him and fellow drivers to the absolute limit.
Formula 1 happens at incredible speeds, some of the fastest seen in the world of motorsport. However, it may not always come across that way on television. In the Box Box podcast, the three-time world champion explained when he really feels the speed: "It's probably when you hit the wall, then you really feel that it's actually going really fast because even in Monaco...qualifying, yes, it's very fast. "
But crashes are when Verstappen says that he really feels and notices the extreme speeds: "You realise it's very fast, but only when you hit something then you realise, oh, we're actually going really fast. So, of course, close to the walls on the street circuit you probably realise this is crazy. But I mean, the same when you go to like Mexico City and you go again like 360 or whatever, it feels fast."
Would Verstappen like to see oval circuits on the F1 calendar?
Verstappen, both in real life and online, is a huge fan of racing, repeatedly stating that he likes old-school tracks especially, saying that he would add Mugello to the calendar if he could: "Fast corners. Just flowing tracks so not too many like low speeds stop-start. Just flowing fast corners," said the Red Bull Racing driver.
But what does the three-time world champion think of circuits used in IndyCar and NASCAR? In those racing classes in the United States, cars are driven on oval tracks, something that Verstappen is not a fan of. "No. Not for me. I like to do it for fun online. I've done Indy and NASCAR. I like to watch it but not to drive it myself. I've driven an F1 car on an oval, but no."
