Verstappen puts iconic phrase 'Simply Lovely' on his merchandise
Max Verstappen has launched new merchandise, which includes his iconic catchphrase "Simply Lovely". The Dutchman has often used that phrase over the team radio during his entire Formula 1 career and many fans refer to the comment when he does something impressive. That phrase is now included in his latest clothing line.
Many people in Formula 1 are known for their catchphrases. That includes Mercedes for the "get in their Lewis" and "Valtteri, it's James," for example. Verstappen uttered the phrase 'simply lovely' after overtaking Sebastian Vettel during the 2017 Mexican Grand Prix, and since then, it has been used regularly.
Verstappen applies for 'Simply Lovely' trademark
The European Union Intellectual Property Network reports that a trademark application for the three-time Formula 1 world champion's well-known slogan has been filed from Luxembourg - where the Verstappen brand's offices are located. The famous statement can now also be seen on several items of clothing for sale in Verstappen's online shop.
Verstappen's race engineer - Gianpiero Lambiase - also used the words several times after Verstappen won a race or when he made a nice overtaking move. Lando Norris - who is battling with Verstappen for the world title - managed to win the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. After crossing the line first, the Brit said on the team radio, "Simply lovely, huh?"
