FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem confirms additional personnel

Mohammed Ben Sulayem has confirmed new staff with the FIA. Through a statement on their own website, the FIA has revealed that Alberto Villarreal will be the new general manager and Alessandra Malhamé the new senior HR director.

Villarreal and Malhamé react to appointments

Villarreal - who has 28 years of automotive experience and multiple leadership roles - has welcomed his own appointment as chief executive. "It is an honour to join the FIA at such a pivotal time. I look forward to working with the members, the president, the leadership team and all staff to achieve our shared goals of reform and growth," the Spaniard revealed on the FIA website.

Malhamé will be made responsible for providing strategic leadership for all human resources at the FIA. "The strength of any thriving organisation lies in its people. My focus at the FIA will be on fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation, simplifying processes and empowering employees to achieve our shared goals," Malhamé said.

Ben Sulayem also makes himself heard

FIA president Ben Sulayem has also spoken out following the appointment of Villarreal and Malhamé. According to the president of one of racing's leading bodies, it is another step in the right direction for the FIA. "I am delighted to welcome Alberto and Alessandra to the team. With Alberto's vast leadership experience, I am confident he will drive sustainability in our financial performance, governance and operations and deliver value for our members. Alessandra brings a wealth of HR expertise to the federation. I am confident she will ensure the development of our most precious asset: our people," Ben Sulayem said.
