How much impact is this going to have on Ferrari?

Vasseur plays down headline departure at Ferrari: 'not a drama'

It was a surprise to the entire paddock when it was announced that at Ferrari, the head of the chassis department, Enrico Cardile, will switch from Ferrari to Aston Martin in the middle of the season. Meanwhile, team boss Fred Vasseur has responded to the switch, stating that Ferrari is already in the process of shaping a new organisation.

"I can announce that after the summer break we will announce the new organisation," Vasseur told Motorsport.com. "For us it is not a drama. At the end of the day, we have a group of more than 200 people working on this [project], or 300 people working on the other one. It's not one person," the Frenchman said.

Ferrari had a good start to the season with a 1-2 finish in Melbourne and a win by Charles Leclerc at his home circuit in Monaco. After that, things went downhill for the Scuderia, but according to Vasseur, that has nothing to do with Cardile's departure. "We showed that we worked as a team in a tough moment. Again, I don't want to pay attention to a single event, but in 12 months we closed two-thirds of the gap with the winner," the Ferrari team boss added.
