"I had been walking around for years with the idea of taking on the challenge of designing our own hypercar. From concept to completion, it was a wonderful project and a wonderful journey," says Newey. "To finally get to pull the curtain off and witness the birth of the RB17 is truly special."
"The RB17 Hypercar embraces everything we stand for: undeniable power, speed and beauty. It is very flexible in its capabilities and we have made sure it is a two-seater, so you can enjoy the thrill of driving at speeds like we see in F1 with a friend or partner," Red Bull Racing's Chief Technical Officer said.
Horner is also proud of his team's flagship car. " We are delighted to unveil the RB17 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a project that is one of the most authentic and exciting that Red Bull Advanced Technologies has embarked on to date," said the Red Bull team boss.
"With 20 years of experience in the F1 world to draw from and as a performance-oriented organisation, it only made sense for us to design our own hypercar from the ground up. Combining technical innovation, performance and emotional appeal, the RB17 is a ground-breaking car. I am very proud of the team and happy that it is making its world debut. We expect the RB17 to become a future classic."
