Hamilton beats Verstappen in Power Rankings after British GP
Lewis Hamilton was, of course, the undisputed number one, with a Power Ranking of 9.4. Notable was Nico Hulkenberg, who was awarded second place ahead of Max Verstappen in third.

Verstappen has also closed the gap on Norris in the driver standings. At 0.3, the three-time world champion increased his lead a little. In the changing conditions at Silverstone, Hamilton and Verstappen proved to be the deciding factors within their teams, while at McLaren and Norris doubts betrayed that they still need to make strides to have a chance of winning a championship.
Hulkenberg was perhaps the man of the weekend after Hamilton. The German had already scored points two weekends in a row with a Haas, but the way he did it was even more magisterial. As the Hulk managed to qualify and finish very handsomely sixth in the rain, Haas moved close to Visa Cash App RB in the constructors' standings. Sauber's Andreas Seidl will have been rubbing his hands with delight at Hulkenberg making the move to his team next season.
But there is always a boss over boss. Hamilton was the absolute star at Silverstone. After a drought of no less than two seasons, it was finally allowed to happen again for the seven-time world champion. On his own home turf, the Briton was unbeatable in varying conditions, including by Verstapppen. Hamilton who is in his last season at Mercedes before making the infamous switch to Ferrari, still looks set to secure a fine farewell at the Silver Arrows.
