Despite Max Verstappen having indicated he does not want to leave Red Bull Racing, Toto Wolff continued to flirt with the Dutchman in Austria. Speaking to Oe24, the Mercedes team boss talks more about the situation with the triple world champion.

GPblog reported several weeks ago that Verstappen would stay at Red Bull. The current world championship leader confirmed this himself in Austria. Yet this did not stop Wolff from making the occasional comment about expecting to work with Verstappen at some point.

    Wolff on flirting with Verstappen

Wolff was asked ahead of the Silverstone race weekend about his chances of attracting Verstappen, now that father Jos and Christian Horner are at loggerheads. To this, the team boss replied: "We should not make the problem more important than it is and concentrate on making a car capable of winning. Then the next step will automatically follow."

In Austria, Wolff was spotted talking to Jos Verstappen. When the team boss was asked about what was discussed, he responded, "Nothing special. We have known each other since before as drivers and we are on the same wavelength when it comes to racing."

Wolff and Max Verstappen both live in Monaco. There is, therefore, a chance of running into each other from time to time. Yet this doesn't happen much, says the Austrian: "It's not like we happen to meet at McDonald's."
