Perez starts again at a disadvantage: 'We have changed a lot'
Sergio Perez has a lot of work to do after the second free practice in Barcelona. The Mexican did not get beyond 13th place and does not yet have the right feeling with the car.
"I started the day well, but then into FP2 we made quite a few changes and I think we lost track somewhere. Plenty of things to analyse. We've made a lot of changes, and we've explored the car quite a bit, so hopefully we are able to pick the right bits going on tomorrow. (Saturday)," Perez told F1TV afterwards.
Perez's grid penalty
Perez got no further than 13th place in practice, a position Perez will definitely not be happy with on Saturday. According to 'Checo', qualifying is therefore very important: "Super, super crucial. With the lack of overtaking around this place, it's going to be very important to be able to qualify well, to be able to get into a good position on Sunday."
For Perez, it will be a nasty weekend in Barcelona anyway. Indeed, after the Canadian Grand Prix, Perez received a grid penalty of three spots. Wherever Perez will qualify on Saturday, he will still be put three spots backwards for Sunday's race.
