The ski accident in which Michael Schumacher was seriously injured was terrible enough. Now, the fact that the family of the German racing legend has since been harassed at times by extortionists is extra sad. For the second time, the family has had to deal with this, but the police have acted appropriately. Two men from Wuppertal were arrested in the case on Wednesday.

According to Bild, the men wanted millions from the Schumachers. What else would happen is not known. Wolf-Tilman Baumert, spokesman for the prosecution, told the newspaper about the case: "We are investigating a blackmail case against a celebrity and have issued arrest warrants in this case. We cannot give more information at this time."

A previous extortionist was pretty stupid

This is not the first time the Schumacher family has had to deal with an extortionist. In 2016, a then 25-year-old man sent a blackmail email to Corinna Schumacher, the Formula 1 legend's wife. In it, he even threatened her children. This man was quickly captured by the police.

This was the criminal's own fault. At the time, the judge said, "To put it gently, putting your own account number there is not very smart." In the end, the man disappeared behind bars for a year and nine.
