Daniel Ricciardo, after his great qualifying on Saturday, made a not so good impression at the start of the race in Canada. The Australian received a five-second penalty because of a false start.

Ricciardo gets penalty for false start

Ricciardo drove his Visa Cash App RB into the top-five during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. A great position for the race, which started in rainy conditions. The Australian could use the points well, as often enough he does not compete for a spot in the top-ten.

At the start, Ricciardo only made a mistake. The VCARB driver came off his starting spot too early, forcing him to pay a five-second penalty at his next pit stop.

After qualifying, the Australian was still irritated by words from Jacques Villeneuve. The Canadian stated that Ricciardo would be better off leaving Formula 1. The Australian then reacted cynically to the one-time world champion's statements. Ricciardo said the Canadian racing legend would have hit his head a little too often with his statements.
