Kravitz: 'Is Verstappen critical to justify Red Bull departure?'
- Corwin Kunst
Max Verstappen was remarkably critical of the RB20 over the weekend in Monaco. The Red Bull Racing driver said that the Austrian racing stable failed to solve the problems that were also present last year. Verstappen had to drive around the kerbs and his car bounced quite a bit. Ted Kravitz found it remarkable that the three-time world champion did not mince words.
"Is Max Verstappen with his complaints about the car’s handling here preparing the justification for a potential exit from Red Bull?", Kravitz asked aloud after the Monaco Grand Prix. "Max was quite tough on Red Bull and the shortcomings of their what we thought was a great car, this RB20."
The Sky Sports pit reporter continued: "After qualifying yesterday and again sort of to Natalie [Pinkham, reporter] in the pen afterwards saying well, this is what’s going to happen with this car, and Canada has kerbs that we don’t like either, this car doesn’t like either. I just wonder whether max is sort of preparing the ground for a sort of justification from his eventual Red Bull exit whether that’s for next year or the year after or not at all, we will find out."
