Here's what Carlos Sainz said after a positive day for Ferrari in Imola
Carlos Sainz finished FP1 in third place and FP2 in sixth place, and is content after a positive Friday with his Ferrari SF-24. The Spaniard says he is 'confident' Ferrari are in a good place for their first home race of the year, especially as teammate Charles Leclerc topped both sessions.
"A good Friday for the team. We had a strong FP1 and in FP2 we made some changes that seemed to go in the right direction and I was reasonably happy with the car. I didn't put together a clean lap with the soft but I’m confident we are in a good place," said the three-time Grand Prix winner.
Sainz looking forward to a regular Saturday in his SF-24:
"After two Sprint weekends, it was good to have time to test and try different approaches on the car, especially having a new package here. There's still a bit of work to do before qualifying but I’m already looking forward to tomorrow."
Ferrari will be hoping that both drivers can replicate their practice performances and qualify on pole position on Saturday in Imola.
