Daniel Ricciardo is not yet in his best form at the start of 2024. During the past race in Japan, the Australian was part of a big crash on the first lap together with Alexander Albon. But even in the three previous races, the good-humoured driver did not finish among the top 10.

The poorer results have not left Ricciardo cold. But Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing team boss, is not worried for now. "Daniel's a big boy. He's been around the block. He knows how things work," he said.

'Then the smile returns'

Due to weaker results, the 34-year-old racer's Formula 1 career seems to be on the back burner. But Horner still sees things working out for Ricciardo in the short term. "We are at race four. He just needs to get a good results in the bag. And then the smile or return. So I think that he just, his teammates delivering and that naturally then puts pressure on, on you. But, he's been there before. I'm sure he'll bounce back."

In a week and a half, the Formula 1 world will head back to China for the first time in four years. During that weekend, in addition to the regular Grand Prix, a sprint race is also scheduled.
