Red Bull occupy the top four in pitstop rankings with Verstappen and Perez
Red Bull Racing was not only dominant on track at the Japanese Grand Prix, but also in the pit lane. Together with drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, the Austrian Formula 1 team occupied the entire top four fastest pit stops during the race, leading them further ahead in the pit stop rankings.
Extra win for Verstappen and Red Bull in GP Japan
The GP weekend in Japan was very successful for Red Bull, which came back strongly after a disappointing weekend in Melbourne. Not only were both drivers on the front row of the grid, Verstappen also secured the fastest lap as well as the fastest pit stop.
Red Bull was so dominant in the pit lane at Suzuka that it occupied the entire top four with all stops by Verstappen and Perez. Verstappen recorded the first and fourth times at the pit stops, Perez the second and third. However, only each driver's fastest stop counts when awarding points.
Red Bull therefore proudly leads not only both F1 championships, but also that of fastest pit stops one too. In previous years, the Austrian formation also consistently took the prize, despite the extra challenge introduced in 2021 with the mandatory pit-stop equipment that made stops of less than two seconds virtually impossible.
