Is Verstappen leaving Red Bull Racing? This is what Horner says about it
Christian Horner does not believe Max Verstappen will close the door behind him at Red Bull Racing. The Dutchman still has a contract until 2028, and Horner expects Max to stick to it.
In the press conference ahead of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, the topic was anyone's guess, especially given that Horner himself had to turn up for the press event. It was logically about Jos Verstappen's statements and the stories that continue to circulate about the investigation into Horner that was completed earlier.
Will Verstappen make the switch to Mercedes?
In all the commotion, there were also rumours about a switch for Max Verstappen. Jos Verstappen had, in fact, been spotted at Mercedes and had also held talks with Toto Wolff. Could Verstappen make the switch to Mercedes? Horner does not see that happening so soon.
Can you confirm that Max will sit out his contract until 2028 at Red Bull Racing? Horner responded: "I'm certain that he will. He's got a great team around him. He's got great faith in that team. We've achieved an awful lot together. So, he's committed to an agreement until 2028. From a team side, from Max's side, we're determined to build on the success that we've achieved already. Those 55 victories have all come in Red Bull cars. All of the podiums have come in Red Bull racing cars. We're determined to build on that and add hopefully many more in the future."
Max Verstappen himself also stated earlier that he would like to stay at Red Bull Racing. ''Then things have to go really crazy. That is not the goal for everyone,'' Verstappen revealed when asked if he would switch to Mercedes in 2025.
