Max Verstappen to Mercedes? 'I don't believe anything about it'
Due to tensions within the Red Bull Racing team, Max Verstappen has been linked with a switch to Mercedes. It was already announced last winter that Lewis Hamilton will move from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025, so a seat will become available at team principal Toto Wolff's team. Former F1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck does not see the Dutchman going there any time soon.
A move by Verstappen to Mercedes did not seem at all realistic for a long time, but now the Dutchman is said to be in pole position for a seat next to Russell. At least, so Auto Motor und Sport reported. In any case, Stuck does not see it happening. "That would be incredibly stupid," he explained to Eurosport.de.
Stuck comes up with striking name
Andrea Kimi Antonelli is often linked when it comes to a seat in Mercedes' Formula 1 team. The talent is just 17 years old. The Italian is currently racing in Formula 2. If it were up to Stuck, there would be a completely different driver in the car alongside George Russell.
The German makes a striking prediction for next season. Namely, he thinks a Formula 1 legend is going to return to the king class of motorsport. "Next year Sebastian Vettel will drive for Mercedes. He is bored and would get another chance at a great team. In my opinion, Vettel is going to drive one hundred per cent for Mercedes," Stuck explained.
