Steiner returns to Formula 1 in 2024: "I'm looking forward to it"
Guenther Steiner will be back on TV in the 2024 Formula 1 season. The former Haas team principal will start working as a permanent F1 expert at RTL Germany, where he will analyse sessions on all broadcast race weekends.
Steiner returns in F1
Due to his outspoken character and major presence in the popular Netflix series Drive to Survive, Steiner has gained cult status among fans of the sport. After the 2023 F1 season, he had to leave the field at Haas, where he was replaced by Ayao Komatsu.
Soon people wondered whether Steiner might return in another role and that indeed appears to be the case. RTL, which will be broadcasting seven races on the open network this year, has recruited the gruff former team boss to its permanent presentation team.
Steiner looks forward to new role
Steiner is looking forward to his new role and plans to not mince words, just as fans have come to expect from him. "Formula 1 is competition at the highest level, on the track and in the paddock. How should drivers' performances be judged and what does that mean for the organisations behind them? I look forward to exploring these processes with this strong presentation team and sharing my analyses of the racing action," he says.
The following F1 races can be seen at RTL this year, including analysis by Steiner: the Grands Prix of Bahrain, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Baku and Las Vegas.
