Guenther Steiner is not sitting still after his departure as team boss at Haas. Partly due to the blockbuster Drive to Survive, the man who was at Haas from 2014 has become an icon within motorsport. Steiner already has a book to his name (Surviving to Drive). This was released in May 2023, but the 58-year-old man is not done with books just yet.

Steiner excited about the second book

"We are working on the second book at the moment," the Italian revealed to Motorsport.com. "That was planned already before. Now, obviously, the story maybe changes a little bit! And I actually enjoyed working with the writer, he is a cool dude, we had good fun."

"He said hanging out with me was always good fun because it was never the pressure of ‘we need to do this’. It all came very organically," Steiner continued. "Now I've got more time, but even now, we do two sessions a week of half an hour. We do one on Tuesday and one on Friday. That's all I do, he does the rest," concluded the former team boss of the American constructor.

Did Drive to Survive cost Steiner?

Steiner, partly due to Drive to Survive, gained huge star status within Haas. After it was announced that Steiner would quit the team, it was suggested by some fans that the star status became too much for the American owner.
