Steiner is sure: 'Max Verstappen dominance will come to an end'

Guenther Steiner is convinced that Max Verstappen's period of dominance will come to an end in the near future. The former Haas team boss thinks it is just a phase and suspects that Red Bull Racing could find it more difficult even in the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Steiner thinks Verstappen dominance is going to end
Despite the positive noises from Mercedes about the W15, which according to Toto Wolff "feels like a car again for the first time in two years", the German team admit that it is very ambitious to want to take another shot at the world title this year. At the same time, McLaren impressed a lot in the second half of 2023. Steiner expects most of the challenge to come from them in 2024.
Asked about the dominance of Verstappen and Red Bull, Steiner says: "That will end. This is a period, in my opinion. I think some of the teams will catch up next year. Look at what McLaren did last year. They caught up pretty quickly."
Moreover, the balance of power could change completely again when the new regulations take effect in 2026, Steiner stressed at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham. "Obviously Max dominated a little bit last year. I think he’s in the best car and I think he’s the best driver at the moment. But there are other good drivers now and other good cars out there, which will be coming up this year."
