Jordan: 'Would love to see him get a chance alongside Verstappen'

Red Bull Racing is not the team that often gives second chances to drivers, especially if they performed below expectations the first time around. Still, Eddie Jordan would dare to put Alexander Albon next to Max Verstappen again.
Albon made his Formula 1 debut in 2019. This happened quite unexpectedly, as the British Thai actually already had a contract with Nissan to drive in Formula E. Marko put Albon in the Toro Rosso, and six months later, he was promoted to the big Red Bull team as Pierre Gasly's replacement.
Albon lasted one season and a half, then was shown the door and left for Williams after a year on the sidelines. There he has shown impressive things over the last two seasons.
Albon
"I have a soft spot for Albon. Given the right situations, he can be mustard. I would like to see him get a chance alongside Max because I think he could be a big surprise," Jordan states in the podcast Formula for Success.
The 27-year-old driver says he has developed in all areas, is a more complete driver and is better mentally now.
Who will Jordan choose?
Yet Albon would not get a spot in Jordan's team if he were to start his own racing team now. Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton shouldn't expect a call either. They are not the future.
"Leclerc, I would probably have him in there for sure," he said. After thinking for a while, he has his desired line-up ready. "I'm going for Leclerc and Lando [Norris]. That would be the team I would like."
