McLaren wants to be a Grand Prix-winning team again. The British team have already made some necessary investments. On 1 January this year, for instance, Rob Marshall joined the Woking-based team as Technical Director, Engineering & Design. He came over from Red Bull Racing after a long tenure. Marshall does not appear to be the only newcomer at McLaren this week.

Stephanie Carlin has transferred from Rodin Carlin. She was team boss at that training team last season. The Brit (41) has joined McLaren as Business Operations Manager. She is now responsible for a wide range of activities, including managing F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (as well as reserve drivers), the F1 Academy series and the talents within McLaren.

    Hamilton sees Carlin leave

Carlin boasts a lot of experience in motorsport. After serving in a variety of roles, she became team boss of Rodin Carlin's F3 and F1 Academy Teams in 2023 and team boss of Team X44 in the Extreme E Championship, leading the team on behalf of owner Lewis Hamilton. With these appointments, she became the first and only female team boss in the respective categories.

Rodin Carlin - the team she has now left - was owned by Trevor Carlin, her husband. The Briton was the team's namesake in F2 and F3 for many years. Last November, he sold the company. Rodin Carlin applied to the FIA to join Formula 1 but was denied a licence.
