Perez praises Verstappen: 'Max deserves this championship more than anyone'
Sergio Perez was presented with the trophy for second place in the Formula One championship at the FIA Prize Giving Gala. The Mexican had to acknowledge his superiority to teammate Max Verstappen in 2023 and congratulated the Dutchman on his well-deserved third-world title.
Perez congratulated Red Bull and Verstappen
"Second best in the world," Perez summed up his F1 season. "Had some rough times this season, but the important thing is we never gave up. We've learned a lot and we'll come back even stronger in 2024. We achieved everything as a team! Great job Red Bull Racing!"
Perez also has nice words to say about the performance of his teammate, who secured his third world title at the Grand Prix weekend in Qatar. "Max Verstappen deserves that championship more than anyone. He drove amazingly all year. Congratulations!"
"Thanks for all your support, another season full of great moments," Perez concluded.
