Ratings average | Alonso drops despite podium, Verstappen clear out front
With two Grands Prix to go, things must be going very crazy if Max Verstappen is not to be declared the best driver of 2023 after this season. In Brazil too, the three-time champion was the best; both on track and also in the figures awarded by GPblog.
Max Verstappen thus continues to lead the list. The Dutchman received a nine after the Brazilian Grand Prix, the highest mark of the day. Another outlier was Fernando Alonso. Despite his rating of eight, the Spaniard drops from second to third place on the list. Lando Norris, who captured his seventh podium finish of the season in Brazil, passed the Spaniard. Lewis Hamilton also made a move. The Briton drove a fine race, according to GPblog, but had to deal with a Mercedes that was not functioning.
At the bottom of the list, Lance Stroll is slowly creeping out of the doldrums. The Canadian is now equal to Logan Sargeant in terms of average and thus has every possibility of still leaving the last spot to the Williams American in the coming weeks.
