Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen seem to be slowly reviving their rivalry. For the second Grand Prix in a row, the Briton crossed the finish line in second place, although he was disqualified over a week ago. In Mexico, the seven-time champion once again proved to be Verstappen's main challenger in the end, although the distance on the line was ultimately almost 14 seconds.

At a time when the Mercedes is getting stronger and Hamilton is in excellent form, the F1 circus travels on to Brazil for the final leg of the triple header. Last season, Mercedes managed to take its only win of the year at the Interlagos circuit, with George Russell besting his teammate. All in all, this may give the German team confidence that there is something to be gained in Brazil at the expense of Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing.

    Hamilton confident heading to Interlagos

"It definitely gives us a lot of confidence," said Hamilton, ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. "I mean, last year, at the same time, we were doing the same thing, but last year, I think we were three-tenths behind Max in quali – or something like that, and I came second again but he walked off with it. So, we're really just mirroring what we did last year."

Hamilton continued, "so, we have to make some real big changes for next year. Obviously, in Bahrain earlier this year, they were 1.5 seconds a lap faster than us at least. So the key is to make sure that's not the case in Bahrain, but I think hopefully these next couple of races will be close. But I’d probably put money on it that he’d get to 18, 19, with that car," Hamilton pointed to Max Verstappen.
