Charles Leclerc will be the happiest driver in the paddock after taking pole at the Circuit of the Americas, although the Ferrari driver didn't go through Q3 without fear, as a radio mix-up led the Monegasque to have a fright in the cockpit.

Cause of Leclerc's Heart Attack

Despite winning the pole in Texas, it was a radio mix-up that caused the Ferrari driver to have a small heart attack. "I just had a heart attack because my engineer told me track limits and then for Verstappen. And when I heard track limits, I punched the steering wheel and my helmet, and then I heard for Verstappen. I thought that was better news for us. I just said to Xavi, please tell me the name before the track limits, just so I don't get too excited."

He continued later that despite Verstappen's deleted lap time, he is still a threat for the win on Sunday as well as during the Sprint proceedings, "For sure, [he is] always [a threat]. Obviously, this year, Max is always on it. So yes, he will be a threat and up there tomorrow."

Leclerc will start the race alongside Lando Norris. Lewis Hamilton will be breathing down his neck because the Brit starts in P3. Verstappen will be chasing from P6, and it might be a question of how quickly the Dutchman can catch up. Perhaps his Ferrari teammate, Carlos Sainz, will have a say in that matter with some defensive moves.
