Ericsson from Ganassi to Andretti: 'Absolute dream come true'
After four years of racing for Chip Ganassi Racing, Swedish IndyCar driver Marcus Ericsson will race for Andretti Autosport. Former Formula Onedriver Romain Grosjean is questioning whether he will be in IndyCar action next season. Due to disappointing results, there are question marks behind his name.
During his time in the US racing class, Ericsson won four races in four seasons. From 2024, the 32-year-old Ericsson will drive for Andretti's team. At least he himself is very excited about it, he reveals in the post on the Andretti Autosport site.
Ericsson and Andretti are enthusiastic
"I’m very happy and proud to be joining Andretti Autosport next season. Andretti is one of the most legendary names in motorsports, so it is definitely a dream come true for me to join this team. It is a very exciting new chapter in my career and I am really looking forward to getting started and achieving our goals together. Thereare exciting times ahead and I am grateful for this opportunity," Ericsson said.
CEO of Andretti Autosport Michael Andretti is also excited: "It’s no secret that we want to win races and Championships and to do that we need drivers like Marcus who have that natural talent and determined drive. We are excited for the winning mindset that Marcus brings to the table and I’m eager to see what next season has in store for us," he says.
