Legendary Ferrari car of Michael Schumacher goes under the hammer
The Sotheby's auction house will auction off a legendary car in August. Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F2001b will go under the hammer, which the seven-time world champion drove in the 2002 season. This will of course carry a huge price tag, as Schumacher's 2003 Ferrari was already sold for almost 15 million euros last year.
Schumacher's Ferrari under the hammer
The Ferrari F2001b is the car with which Schumacher won his fifth world title. With this, the German was the first driver ever to equal Juan Manuel Fangio with five world titles. The seven-time world champion also set another record in 2002: Schumacher was the first driver ever to be on the podium in all races of a season. Now, 21 years later, Schumacher is still the only driver who managed to achieve this.
The chassis number being auctioned is 215, which came into action in the first two races of the season, Australia and Malaysia. In Melbourne, Schumacher took the first victory of the season in his F2001b and in Malaysia, the German finished third, which ultimately proved to be his worst result of the season. The auction will open on 16 August and bids can then be placed on the legendary F1 car until 19 August.
