Pat Fry becomes new technical director at Williams
Pat Fry is set to join the Williams team. So reports Motorsport.com. The current chief technical officer of Alpine will join Williams in the role of technical director.
Rebuilding Williams
Williams is currently without a technical director after Francois-Xavier Demaison left in December. For now, Fry will still work for Alpine. After that, the French team will have to look for a replacement.
Williams' new team boss James Vowles is rebuilding his team. Indeed, in the past, Frank Williams' team was an absolutely top team, winning a total of nine constructors' and seven drivers' championships. In recent years, the team has fallen back to the bottom spots of the championships.
Fry's career
Fry himself has quite a bit of experience in Formula 1. He worked for Benetton, McLaren and Ferrari, among others. In 2019, he returned to Renault, which underwent a name change in 2021. So now he will leave the team again, although it is not yet known from when.
