Russell on Norris and Verstappen incident: 'He needs to go to Specsavers!'
The podium ceremony after the Hungarian Grand Prix was dominated by only one thing. Max Verstappen's broken trophy. Lando Norris opened his champagne bottle and, as a result, the cup fell into several pieces. Mercedes driver George Russell's reaction was therefore not mild.
Russell takes it with a grain of salt
Speaking to Kids at Sky Sports, Russell reacted to the incident with Verstappen's cup for the first time. "You are kidding me, what happened? That's surely got be like a 10 second penalty, that is awful! What is he thinking? He needs to go to Specsavers maybe!" the 25-year-old Formula 1 driver told with a grin on his face.
After the race, it was soon announced that the Dutchman would get to receive a new trophy. Six months had been spent working on the trophy, which also cost 40,000 euros. Norris already told the press conference that "it wasn't his problem."
