Verstappen jokingly interjects Croft's question: 'Experience with that?'
Daniel Ricciardo is back in F1 and during the first press moment the Australian attended, he immediately brought out the buffoon in Max Verstappen. Verstappen interrupted Sky commentator David Croft's question.
Things are good again between Sky and Verstappen
Indeed, Ricciardo is returning to the F1 grid at a team where he drove a decade ago. The then Toro Rosso, now AlphaTauri, is something of an ex-lover for the Australian. At least, that's what Sky's Croft makes of it at the FIA press briefing: "You're going back to your ex. And they say sometimes you should go back to your ex because it's fraught with potential problems. Is this fraught with potential problems? Are there any pitfalls with going back to your ex at this time?"
Ricciardo did not get time to answer, as Verstappen was ahead of him. The Dutchman quicklly turned to the questioner: "You have experience with that?" Croft manages to hold his own and thanks for Verstappen's concerned question. The relationship between Sky and Verstappen/Red Bull was damaged last year by statements made by Ted Kravitz, but those problems seem to have been completely eliminated.
Finally, Ricciardo's answer follows, giving three reasons: "It's all good. It's all positive. I was there last week. Facilities changed a lot in the last 10 years since I was there. So it felt like a new team or a fresh environment. But also 10 years is a long time. That team's changed. I've changed. There's a nice kind of nostalgia going back."
