It wasn't to be for Perez: 'Nothing worked today'
Sergio Perez started the British Grand Prix from fifteenth place and so had to come a long way. He eventually made it back to sixth place, but the Mexican had hoped for more.
"Nothing worked today," Perez explained after the race in a press briefing with GPblog. "I had a great launch but then I was pushed off by Ocon on lap one, and I lost positions instead of gaining, so it just made it harder the recovery."

He continued: "I used too much my tyres on that first thing and then we boxed I think three laps before the safety car, so it wasn't meant to be, but in the end we gave it all, and we did what we possibly could."
Perez had an incident early in the race not only with Esteban Ocon, but also with Nico Hulkenberg. In that incident, the latter lost a wing end plate from his front wing, forcing him to come in immediately for a new front wing. "We clipped, yeah, I think I was lucky not to get a puncture there. Yeah, a little race incident," judged the Red Bull driver.
