Watch: Verstappen gets away well, Stroll and Alonso collide in Bahrain GP
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen managed to defend his pole position by getting away perfectly in the Bahrain Grand Prix. Behind the Red Bull Racing driver, things got exciting for a while between Sergio Perez and both Ferraris, but all drivers eventually got through the first corner without any problems.
Perfect start for Verstappen
Verstappen made a perfect start and got away immediately, but Charles Leclerc also got away very well. Perez made a poor start and got close to a crash with the Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz. He then lost his second position to Leclerc but did well to hold P3.
A little further along, things went wrong for Aston Martin. Fernando Alonso lost a place and was then hit by none other than his teammate Lance Stroll, who braked late and was unable to avoid Alonso. The stewards decided not to scrutinise the incident any further.
