Binotto sheds light on SF-23: "It's not my car, it's Ferrari's car"

Since his departure from Ferrari was announced in November last year, things remained quiet for some time on Mattia Binotto's part. However, following the unveiling of the SF-23 for the 2023 Formula 1 season, the former team boss has made himself heard from again.
Binotto on SF-23 development
In conversation with the Italian Corriere dello Sport Binotto shines his light on his former team's brand new F1 car. "In Formula 1, we don't talk about an individual, we talk about an entire group. This is a car that was designed last year and that I was involved in, but it is not my car. It is Ferrari's car," begins the Swiss-born Italian.
He continues: "To win, you always have to have the best car. The driver makes the difference for the last two tenths on the track." That difference, according to Binotto, is in talent, driving ability and mentality. "A driver must have that charisma with which he pushes the whole team to keep improving."
As part of the presentation, the SF-23 took to the Fiorano circuit immediately after the unveiling. After tossing a coin, Charles Leclerc was the lucky one who got to drive the first laps in the new car. Then it was Carlos Sainz 's turn to take a test drive.
