Lance Stroll will be severely tested in the upcoming Formula 1 season. He will be joined by Fernando Alonso, who despite his age is just as driven as drivers still at the beginning of their careers. Speaking to GPblog and others, Stroll says he is looking forward to working with the two-time world champion, whom he followed on television in his youth.

When Stroll was younger, Alonso and Michael Schumacher called the shots on the F1 grid. At the time, Schumacher was the veteran with seven world titles to his name, while a young Alonso put the heat on him.
"I have a lot of memories watching this guy fight for championships against Schumacher. I'm not gonna lie. I was shouting for Schumacher," laughed Stroll, for whom it is undoubtedly a special sensation to now have Alonso as a teammate. "It's amazing to see him so motivated," he says of the 41-year-old Spaniard.
The Canadian says he got up early as a child to watch F1 races live and see Alonso in action in them. "He was the guy to watch. Great to have him and the team are really excited," said Stroll, who is looking forward to getting started with his new teammate.
