Nicholas Latifi is disappointed to not compete in Formula 1 next season, he reveals to Formula1.com. The Canadian had hoped to continue competing for Williams next season, but he failed to convince his team of his qualities.

According to the driver, he pulled out all the stops in his first two seasons in the motorsport class. Latifi started as a rookie at Williams and remained pointless in his opening year. In 2021, the points tally finally reached seven and he finished in 17th position.

Latifi unconvincing in final season

This season, all eyes were on him, but he once again failed to convince. Only in Japan did he manage to finish in the points. Latifi crossed the finish line in ninth place under difficult weather conditions, ending the race year with two points. Teammate Alexander Albon picked up double the number.

"This year I would say, ultimately, was my worst year out of the three years, in what was a crucial year for me to secure the future," Latifi stressed in the interview. "I think that’s the reality of it and it just didn’t work out in the end." However, the driver is grateful to Williams for the opportunity he was given.
