Opportunities for Ricciardo at Red Bull? 'Look what happened to De Vries'

Daniel Ricciardo is no longer welcome at McLaren, but a golden opportunity may present itself at Red Bull Racing. His former team boss Zak Brown stresses that it only takes one strong performance to convince one that he is worthy of a permanent seat.
Opportunities for Ricciardo at Red Bull?
After two disappointing years at McLaren, the Australian was shown the door despite his ongoing contract. The deal was bought off to clear the way for Oscar Piastri, after which Ricciardo was left without a seat. After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was announced that he would return to Red Bull Racing as a third driver.
According to Brown, Ricciardo's appointment as at Red Bull gives him a good chance of making a comeback in Formula 1. As an example, he cites Nyck de Vries ' appearance at Monza, where the Dutchman was unexpectedly allowed to make his GP debut in Alexander Albon's Williams.
"Look at what happened with Nyck with one good session. All of a sudden he became hot property," Brown is quoted by Autosport.com. The McLaren team boss believes that if this opportunity arises for Ricciardo, things could just turn around for the Australian.
Ricciardo was also a candidate for Mick Schumacher's seat at Haas, but Brown thinks the driver made the right choice by joining Red Bull. Should an outside opportunity arise there due to Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez not being able to drive for once, Brown believes he could show more than in full-time seat at Haas.
