'Leclerc has to assume some responsibility as well'

Damon Hill believes Charles Leclerc should take more responsibility at Ferrari, he reveals at Sky Sports. Although the Monegasque was disappointed with his team after the Brazilian qualifying, the former Formula 1 driver believes Leclerc also needs to look at himself.
At the start of Q3, Ferrari decided to send him out on intermediates, while the other drivers had the red tyre under their cars. It soon proved to be Leclerc's wrong choice, forcing him to start the sprint race from P10.
"You can see Charles is criticising the team on the radio effectively by saying 'nice one guys' but he has to assume some responsibility as well," Hill argues. "Maybe they aren't letting him do that or maybe he hasn't got the courage to assume it for himself."
Leclerc compared to Verstappen
Hill therefore thinks Leclerc can take an example from Verstappen who is clearly one of the leaders within the team. According to the Briton, the Ferrari driver would be wise to assert himself in the future when he disagrees with a decision.
"I mean... could you imagine Verstappen saying 'what are we doing?'. His personality is such that he commands attention and I think that is part and parcel of being a leading driver in a team," said Hill, who again feels Ferrari was not strong in Brazil.
