Lando Norris will is healthy enough to drive during the first free practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix, several sources report. The Briton was ill but has recovered in time to drive for McLaren.
De Vries is not needed
Norris was absent from the paddock on Thursday. It was reported that the Briton was ill and that was taken seriously. In fact, Nyck de Vries was on display in McLaren's garage as Norris' potential replacement and had also donned the racing suit. De Vries was, in fact, due for a seat fitting.
Those preparations proved unnecessary after all, as the Briton recovered in time to be in action for the first free practice session. For McLaren, this means good news, as Norris is scoring the most points by far this year and can put those points to good use in the battle for fourth place among constructors. It is seven points behind Alpine and McLaren hopes to make up for it.
