Car with which Schumacher won sixth world title sold for record amount

Michael Schumacher' s Ferrari F2003-GA has been sold for a record 14,630,000 dollars. This makes the car fetch much more than its predecessors and than was expected beforehand.
Schumacher's penultimate world title was won in 2003 with the Ferrari car that was auctioned last week. At auction house Sotheby's, bids could be made for Schumacher's car and an estimate of between 7.5 and 9 million dollar was given. That amount was vastly exceeded.
Record amount for the Ferrari
Forbes reports that the car was sold for 14.6 million dollars. Never before has a modern Formula 1 car been sold for such a large sum. The record was held by another car owned by the German. Indeed, the F2001 was sold in 2017 for an eye-watering 7.5 million dollars.
With Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello at the wheel, the F2003-GA won six races, took pole five times and Schumacher also won his sixth world title with it that season. The car was not used for the whole season, as Ferrari started that year with the F2002B. It was replaced during the season by the F2003-GA, after which the F2004 took care of Schumacher's seventh and final world title the following year.
