Former Renault team boss Cyril Abiteboul would have a tattoo done as part of a bet last year to celebrate Daniel Ricciardo's podium finish at the Nürburgring. Recently, however, it was not Abiteboul but McLaren CEO Zak Brown who got a tattoo for his driver.

Around Abiteboul's tattoo silence reigned. Brown thought that Ricciardo's victory at Monza was reason enough to get a permanent remembrance tattoo on his body. Surprisingly, however, it was not Ricciardo, but Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff who urged him on.

He did so as part of the Industry Leaders Challenge of the Grand Prix Trust, a charity dedicated to helping former Formula One personnel who have fallen on hard times. He challenged the McLaren CEO to overcome his greatest fear, which turned out to be a fear of needles.

Brown put his money where his mouth is and had a tattoo done prior to the United States Grand Prix as a tribute to Ricciardo's victory. The design consists of the layout of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, with the date of the Italian Grand Prix in 2021.
