Max Verstappen remains relatively calm under all the pressure of the world championship fight. The Red Bull Racing driver was interviewed by a British journalist, who says she is more enthusiastic about the title fight than Verstappen himself.

Enthusiasm from Verstappen

"I sound more enthusiastic about the title fight than Max Verstappen at the moment," jokes Laura Winter on the Weekend Warm-Up, who had interviewed Verstappen earlier in the day. Indeed, Verstappen had indicated that his life would not change if he became World Champion. ''I understand his approach because he is playing down expectations and staying focused. But, I spoke to Lewis Hamilton and there was a different tone, a different approach and different energy from him."

Verstappen, therefore, remains primarily concerned with his performance on the track. The Dutchman is not looking to the future and is mainly focused on the present. He wants to perform as well as possible in every race and see where it takes him. In the interview with the Dutchman, it also became clear that Verstappen doesn't pay attention to things he has no influence on.

Not concerned with Hamilton

''Coming second in Russia was a really good result for us and now we are looking ahead. This (the Turkish Grand Prix) is a bit of a question mark. Last year wasn't very representative, so I hope the grip levels will be better this year and then we'll see in practice how competitive we're going to be," said Verstappen on the Weekend Warm-Up.

Hamilton has yet to take an engine penalty this year and there is a chance he will take that penalty in Turkey. Verstappen, however, is not concerned with that. "I think they still have to take one engine, it's up to them what they do with it. We did it last race and we'll find out when they take it," concluded the Dutchman.
