Since the start of the race week at Zandvoort, the talk of the day has revolved around the two famous corners of the recently rebuilt circuit in the dunes. Max Verstappen too will see the action in these two corners, but says he understands why the FIA has banned DRS here as a precaution.

Speaking to the microphone of Motorsport.com Verstappen stated that his colleagues are rightly interested in the two corners at Zandvoort. "Everyone is very interested in those corners," said Verstappen. "That's logical because you hardly see them anywhere. I just did a track walk and know it's definitely going to be interesting."

Unique situation

Regarding the FIA's decision to remove the DRS at the Arie Luyendykbocht, Verstappen is sympathetic. He says he understands the choice: "I understand that people are disappointed, but for me, it doesn't change much. You don't know how the cars will react to this unique setting."

Verstappen continued: "The car is pressed against the asphalt by the banking and then you certainly don't know what DRS will do. In that respect, I can understand why they want to have a look at it first."
