Not only Max Verstappen crashed during the second free practice. Just half an hour before, Charles Leclerc also ended up in the tire pile. Carlos Sainz finished just outside the top ten. Team boss Mattia Binotto reacts on the day.

"It was quite different between FP1 and FP2. FP1 was promising, but FP2 and Charles' crash were not great. Very little speed. The conditions are changeable. Tomorrow will be the same," the team boss told the Sky Sports camera.

"So it would be important to find the balance and make the driver feel comfortable in the car. It's important to collect data and today we collected a lot of data."

According to Binotto, there are a few races coming up that will be interesting for Ferrari. About the new engine, he can't say much yet. "When? That hasn't been decided yet, because we are testing it on the dyno. We know it will be there before the end of the season. It was important to bring it with a view to 2022. Whatever we bring, it will be a useful experience for next year," Binotto said.
