Max Verstappen is getting ready for his first race on the Portimao circuit. A circuit that Verstappen is looking forward to, not only because of the special layout, but also because of the speed that the Red Bull Racing car showed a fortnight ago during the Eifel Grand Prix.

"It's a nice circuit. It is cool because of the height differences. I drove a GT car here earlier, but that was pure coincidence. I didn't know at the time that the circuit would be on the calendar," said Verstappen.

Verstappen taking no risks

The fact that Portugal is now suddenly back on the Grand Prix calendar is due to the coronavirus pandemic, which, for safety reasons, means that Formula 1 has remained mainly in Europe this season. However, the virus is also appearing in more and more countries, and Portugal is no exception.

This weekend, therefore, Verstappen is taking no risks and, above all, is staying indoors. "I am not going out to dinner. You shouldn't go looking for the virus," Verstappen said as quoted by Formule1.nl.
