Charles Leclerc must fight back at Silverstone after not winning a race since Australia in April. The gap to Max Verstappen has now increased to 49 points. However, the Silverstone circuit should suit the Ferrari well.

"Obviously we’ve been quite strong in the past and I’ve also been quite strong in the past two so hopefully a combination of the two will make a difference on Sunday", Leclerc says during the press conference broadcasted by Sky Sports.

After several DNF's and strategic errors by the team, Leclerc hopes to regain victory. In 2021, the Monegasque came close to victory at Silverstone after Max Verstappen's heavy crash, but in the end Lewis Hamilton was able to overtake the Ferrari driver.

Leclerc: 'An important month'

Leclerc is currently third in the drivers' championship, almost fifty points behind rival Verstappen. The coming races will be important to turn the tide. The Monegasque wants to go into the summer break with a positive feeling.

"Obviously it’s quite a very important month before the summer break, we are quite far behind of the drivers championship and we want to catch back up. These next few races will be very important starting from here and hopefully we can have a clean weekend, that hasn’t happened since Miami with penalties and all the issues that we’ve had so I’m looking forward to this weekend", the Monegasque ends.
