The 2022 Spanish Grand Prix provided an exhilarating race. After a spin, Max Verstappen had to recover, but after Charles Leclerc's sudden retirement, the Dutchman was able to recover well and eventually ran away with the victory.

Yet not everyone agrees with the way Verstappen won in Barcelona. Sergio Perez was in the lead, but the Mexican had to give up his position and let Verstappen pass. The Dutchman drove on fresher tyre and was, therefore, a lot faster than his teammate.

Mercedes also provided a surprise in Spain. The team came to the circuit with new updates and managed to get a podium finish with George Russell. Lewis Hamilton also drove a strong race after having to drive back to the front from P19 due to an incident with Kevin Magnussen. In the end, the Briton finished on P5.
