Jolyon Palmer thinks that the way Max Verstappen has won his recent victories is remarkable. According to the Brit, the Ferrari drivers in Miami were too soft on the Dutchman.

"In both Imola and Miami he had to come from behind to overhaul Leclerc and he did so quite comfortably. The worry for Ferrari at the moment though must be the manner with which Verstappen is able to beat them, even when he starts behind both cars", Palmer begins in his column for F1.com.

Especially on a circuit like Miami, it is remarkable, as several drivers complained about overtaking without compensating the tyres. Still, Verstappen managed to get past the Ferrari quickly after his P3 in qualifying. After his poor start, Carlos Sainz was immediately overtaken by the Dutchman, while Charles Leclerc was passed eight laps later.

'Ferrari too friendly to Red Bull'

"Leclerc in Miami was surely too generous. I also thought the race strategy from Ferrari was kind to Red Bull", says the former Formula One driver. Because of the safety car, there were several strategic options, and because of Sergio Perez's reliability problems, Palmer thinks it's remarkable that Ferrari didn't try different things with its drivers.
