Saudi Arabian Formula One Grand Prix

Saudi Arabia will again be the second country to host Formula One in 2024. This is the fourth time Formula One has visited Jeddah. The Saudis did plan to build a brand new circuit in Qiddiya but news of that has reduced in recent months. It is the first street track on the 2024 Formula 1 calendar.

The 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

The fourth edition of the Saudi GP will be held on a street circuit in the port city of Jeddah. This circuit was designed by Carsten Tilke, the son of Hermann Tilke. It is the first circuit to come from son Carsten for Formula 1.

Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Faisal, who can be held responsible for bringing Formula 1 to Saudi Arabia, had a clear task for Tilke: It must not become a street circuit like Monaco. The prince wanted to overtake Baku's title as the fastest street circuit in the world. After previous editions, we can say that he succeeded.

However, it is intended that F1 will eventually move to Qiddiya. Until recently, this was an empty spot in the desert outside the capital, Riyadh, but the Saudis have big plans for it. A city is being built here that is completely dedicated to entertainment, with golf courses, amusement parks, and a race circuit.
